Atherosclerosis
Tinnitus can be a sign that your arteries are clogging up with plaque (atherosclerosis) and you are at risk for a heart attack or stroke. As arteries narrow, the blood has to travel through them with more force. You might be able to hear your heart beating in your ears.
If you hear it when you are angry or frightened, it is not serious. If you hear your heart beat in your ears most of the time, let your doctor know.
